I am probably the last person to review this foundation. Nevertheless, I am determined to share my experience with this. Honestly, I bought this based on its review in a leading blog.
I bought the shade hazelnut star.
This foundation is priced at Rs. 595/- for 30 ml and I got this foundation from the lotus herbals website here
Purestay Nourishing foundation is a preservative free, all day wear oil free foundation that gives the skin ultimate weightless coverage. This new luminous formula hydrates the skin, diminishes the appearance of fine lines without clogging pores, delays ageing and offers broad spectrum UV protection SPF 30. Suitable for all skin type.
SPF Confusion: The website claimed the SPF to be 20 in one place and 30 in the product background (see here ) and in the bottle the SPF is mentioned as 20. I am Confused? May be they are confused too. :P
Shopping Experience at the Lotus Herbals website:
They offer free shipping in India and once I booked my order I got this order number mailed to my email. Apart from this I did not get any mails as to the courier information and tracking number. This made me assume that they will be delivering it by their own staff like how some e-commerce sites do. But when I did not get any mails with respect to the product’s dispatch even after 3 working days, I contacted their customer care to find out that they ship only via some courier service and i asked the executive to provide me with the tracking number and got it.
As Lotus herbals is a reputed brand, I would have felt happier if I got the shipping info with the tracking id via e-mail after the dispatch as i found this experience new and weird. I got my product safe soon after that neatly packed. Delivery time and packing are good.
The product comes in a plastic bottle with pump dispenser and it comes with a sturdy pink carton box which I unfortunately threw away and hence do not have any picture of it. The shape of the bottle and the color adopted are very classy.
The color of the foundation suited my skin tone well and did not give me the caked up look. The foundation blends in effortlessly and for me a small quantity i.e., one pump is more than sufficient to cover my face and neck. The foundation has a nice fragrance which is quite pleasant. The foundation, if applied in more than required quantity, feels sticky. It has a very natural finish to it and smoothens my skin tone well. It gives medium coverage.
I made a mistake of not ordering the setting powder from this range along with this as I had my lakme setting powder fairly new at the time of ordering. This foundation when set with my lakme compact looked very cakey/un-natural and I was forced to remove it. I don’t know if it’s about the foundation or it’s about the compact but the combination of both just didn't work out for me. I am planning to get the pure stay compact and try its combination. Hopefully it should work.
The foundation did not irritate my highly sensitive skin; it did not oxidize even in chennai’s climate and this is where this foundation demands special mention. I wore it in the morning without the setting powder and my face looked pretty good when I checked it in the afternoon. I am super confident that if set with the setting powder, it would wear even till evenings. As I mostly work in an air conditioned environment, I don’t sweat much. Hence I cannot comment on the foundation’s quality in withstanding sweat.
Another :( factor is, i am not able to find any shops in chennai where i can purchase these. The Stores which retail lotus herbals products do not seem to stock their pure stay range. If you guys know any shops that retails their range in chennai do let me know ok?
Here's the swatches. See how natural it looks in the second swatch where i have blended it.
If this pairs well with the lotus setting powder, it will be the best foundation worth buying, as it suits my skin tone and wears long. But at the same time, if it fails to pair well, it will join my ever growing list of disastrous foundation purchases.
