Today I am going to review a blush. And this happens to be the first blush review I am doing in my blog. *drum rolls*.
I am new to blushes. In all these years I had made only one blush purchase and that’s from Maybelline. I don’t want to lie saying that I am a no-makeup person and all. I love makeup but I just don’t know how to use them well. After learning the application of blushes I wanted to try a powder one. Well and that’s how I landed with this one.
This blush is from a new range of cosmetics (at least for me) called Anna Andre Paris. I saw their products once in my friend’s blog and was so tempted to try their affordable blushes. I went to Naidu Hall (an apparel shop in chennai) the other day and there I saw anna andre’s counter displaying all their products. I got their blush in shade 03. There are only two shades it seems – rose and peach. I got shade 03 and that is the rose colored one.
Price: Rs. 240/- for 6 grams.
Shelf Life: Three years from date of manufacture.
I loved its packing very much. The blush comes in a sturdy black case with an inbuilt mirror and a blush brush. Unlike other brands the brush does not sit inside the blush case. It just comes with the blush in a black carton box. Again, the carton box looks good and sturdy. The blush case is travel friendly.
The brush surprisingly picks the product well. The brush feels soft and blends the blush well. However due to it’s extremely small size I am not able to use it on my cheeks. :( I use a big round brush and it works fine.
The shade is a rose colored one with subtle shimmer. The shimmer doesn't show up and on application, it turns out to a pretty sheen making it apt for day time use. The blush color is so beautiful and in my opinion will suit for all skin tones. It gives a gorgeous healthy rosey glow to the cheeks with the right amount of sheen; it is hard to pass the day without getting compliments.
The texture is very powdery with lots and lots of fall outs in the pan, but on application, it did not feel chalky at all. It blends well into the skin and is pretty easy to apply. The staying power of this blush is worth mentioning in a glittering box. It stays, stays and stays on my skin. It says easily for 5-6 hours which is really awesome.
One downfall with this blush is its pigmentation and super fine texture. On regular handling, the brush picks up more product than it is actually required and with this color, one can easily go over-board and look like a clown. Hence we need to be a little careful while picking the color and should do subtle initial application.
Now Summarizing its pros and cons.
1. Very beautiful shade.
2. Highly pigmented.
3. Not chalky and blends well.
4. Did not cause any breakouts on my super sensitive skin.
5. Sturdy and cute packing.
6. The brush is pretty decent.
8. Pleasant and mild fragrance some what akin to ponds talc.
9. Staying power is amazing.
1. Highly pigmented and can be over-applied easily.
2. Fall outs on the pan making it a little messy.
3. Not widely available.
A great blush that is worth every penny. I will try the peach variant soon and this one is highly recommended.
Hope you girls loved my review.
