Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash - Review

Hello Friends,

Hope you all had a great weekend. Today, I am going to review one of the irreplaceable member of my skin care routine i.e., my Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne wash.

I have severe acne-prone skin. I have regular breakouts and even got checked with doctor to rule out the Pcos scare. The doctor told that i need to take internal medication regularly to keep them at bay which i got tired of. I kind of grew up and started thinking of ways by which i can keep them under control as i am not comfortable in taking internal medication. By watching what i eat, i was able to reduce their severity to certain extent. I still get one or two every month but that's okay. I find them manageable and less noticeable. I was prescribed some medicated soap named KZ earlier by the doc along with the internal medications to keep them at bay. The soap, though being effective in combating acne, dried my skin out. So, once the acne came under control, I started experimenting with facial cleansers and landed in this one.

After using this for about two months, I think I am ready to review.

Oil-Free Acne Wash is the #1 dermatologist recommended acne-fighting cleanser. This oil-free formula gently cleanses deep down into pores for clear skin. It contains Salicylic Acid to get rid of acne you have now and help prevent future breakouts. Special skin soothers help prevent irritation and overdrying. Skin is left clean, residue-free and never oily.

Price: Rs. 425/- for 175 ml.

The product comes in a typical Neutrogena facial cleanser bottle with a pump dispenser. The bottle is transparent and the pump dispenser dispenses the right amount of product required for one use.

The product is of mild runny consistency and lathers up pretty well than the other Neutrogena cleansers. The smell is mild and is akin to medicated face washes.

The facewash is fantastic. It dried the existing acne fast and helped in keeping the regular breaks outs manageable. And surprisingly, it did not dry the skin like other face washes designed for keeping acne at bay. As I mentioned, it lathers up well (compared to the Liquid Neutrogena) and washes off the dirt and oil completely.  The face feels squeaky clean. Using this face wash has really helped in making those regular acne's manageable. It did not irritate my skin. (YAY!)

This is what the face wash looks like. This quantity is sufficient to cleanse the face.

Now, let me summarize its pros and cons before moving on to the verdict.

1. Helps in keeping acne manageable.
2. Does not dry out the skin.
3. Lathers well and gives a squeaky clean feel.
4. No bothering smell.
5. Big bottle. For me it easily comes for 2 months.
6. Pump dispenser dispenses the right amount of product.
7. Easily available.

1. Contains 2% salicylic acid. May not suit for some.

I love this product very much. It is fantastic for my acne-prone skin. I will repurchase it and will recommend to everyone who suffers from acne subject to the salicylic acid sensitivity.

Hope you girls loved the review.

Note: Acne are caused by various internal and external factors including PCOS. So, if you are prone to regular break outs kindly visit a general physician or gynecologist to rule out the internal causes.
