Liner Love: Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner in black

Hello Girlies,

Hope you are all enjoying your Monday morning to the fullest. :D Today I am going to review the Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner in Black.

I cannot live without liners and kohl’s /kajal’s. They are very important in making me look presentable. At any given point of time, one might find minimum five different brands of liquid liners and Kajals in my vanity. I saw this liner in the health and glow’s Maybelline counter and the word “glossy” made me purchase it without a second thought. Read on to know how it fared for me.

Packing:

Thin, black and opaque little bottle. Travel friendly as it is made of weightless plastic.

Price:

Rs. 225 for 3 grams.

Applicator:

The applicator is very good. It is a thin brush and incredibly flexible. One can create any design using such applicator. It applies the liner evenly and goes incredibly smooth on my lids. The handle of the brush is longer than the container itself. The long handle provides a nice grip.

Texture and formula:

The formula is neither runny nor thick. It is perfect. The pigmentation is very good even with just single swipe. And true to its “glossy” claim; the liner has glossy finish which remains for a really long time. The liner is smudge proof and quick drying. Once it dries it does not budge. The best part is, when I tried smudging the swatch, even the glossiness did not budge.

The liner is not water-proof. It washes very easily without a trace which is quite disappointing.

Swatch:

Washes off perfectly with water: :(

Staying power:

Staying power is very good. On my non-oily lids, it stays put for the entire day. I apply it at 9 AM and it stays just the way I applied it till 7 PM.

Now summarizing the pros and cons:

Pro’s:

1. Cute and travel friendly packing.
2. Very good pigmentation.
3. Glossy finish.
4. Very good staying power.
5. Smudge-proof.
6. Very comfortable applicator.
7. Quick drying.
8. Easily available.

Con’s:

1. Not water-proof.

EOTD:

Here, i have applied Maybelline Hyper glossy liquid liner on the upper lash line and created a mind flick. I have lined my lower waterline heavily with Lakme eyeconic Kajal.

Verdict: Very good eyeliner with glossy finish that stays throughout the day. Though I would have preferred it to be water-proof, I am not complaining and will definitely re-purchase it for the “glossy” factor.

Highly recommended.!

Hope you girls loved the review.

    1. lakme instaliner, once dry looks matte black in color whereas this one stays glossy. secondly lakme is not smudge-proof.
