Sunsilk Perfect Straight shampoo & conditioner - Review

Hello Friends,

Today I am going to share my complete experience with Sunsilk Perfect Straight CO-CREATED by YUKO YAMASHITA shampoo and conditioner. I read lots of positive reviews about this range which tempted me into purchasing this one. Before getting on with the review, i wish to state that this is solely based on my experience and experiences differ from person to person.

Claims:

There is a magic moment between wet & dry hair when your hair looks perfectly straight and beautifully aligned. But as it dries, it starts to puff up and lose shape. Sunsilk expert Yuko Yamashita has co-created Sunsilk Perfect Straight, the ideal shampoo for straight hair every day. Its breakthrough Straight-Lock technology to actively control and hold every strand perfectly aligned as it dries. It penetrates deep within the hair fibre, reducing frizz and straightening strands, keeping them fully aligned as they dry*. Experience unbeatably straight hair that is shiny, smooth and gorgeous, right from the shower.
Straight baal lock karo, rock karo!
*When used with Sunsilk Perfect Straight Conditioner.

Ingredients:

Shampoo:

Conditioner:

Packing:

The shampoo and conditioner comes in a bright purple packing. The shampoo comes in a bottle and conditioner comes in a tube. Both of them come with the reliable flip cap.

Price:

Shampoo : Rs. 189/- for 360 ml.
Conditioner: Rs. 56/- for 90ml.

Experience:

My hair type: Wavy to curly.

The shampoo lathers up well and rinses off easily. The shampoo effectively removes all dirt and oil in just one wash. The shampoo does not have a bothering fragrance. It is floral and a little bit stronger than the dove ones. It does not linger long.

The first time I used this shapoo+conditioner combo I felt “wow”. My hair was perfectly behaved with minimal frizz and yes it did straighten the locks/eased out curls to certain extent. The next day, I found my hair’s ends excessively curled like a dog’s tail and tangled which was quite uncommon. The third day from the day of shampooing, my hair was in its worse condition. They felt dry, rough and my scalp was oily. Once again when I washed my hair, it was all fresh and well behaved. I felt that this shampoo was not suited for my naturally wavy-curly hair. I also felt that it disrupted the basic structure of my hair temporarily hence warranting uncommon tangling and dryness. So, if you are someone with straight to wavy hair without suffering from dryness and split ends, this shampoo will do wonders for you. For me, not so much.

The conditioner was also nothing impressive. It was a little less creamy than the other brand ones and it does the basic job of reducing the tangles and making hair a little manageable for one day.

Swatch:

Let me summarize the pros and cons:

Pros:

1. Nice Packing.
2. Shampoo cleans well.
3. Makes hair temporarily straightened to some extent. (both shampoo and conditioner)
4. Does not increase or reduce hair fall. (both shampoo and conditioner)
5. Does not have any overpowering fragrance. (both shampoo and conditioner).
6. Conditioner conditions the hair decently and reduces tangles after wash.
7. Temporarily controls frizz (both shampoo and conditioner)
8. Pocket friendly.

Cons:

1. Makes dry hair even drier after one/two days.
2. The curls come back with full glory after a day from hair wash.
3. Hair is not so manageable after two/three days prompting us to wash it again.

Verdict:

When we buy and use a shampoo, we expect our hair to be well behaved even after one/two days of wash. But for me, this shampoo works/does wonders only on the day of wash. My hair gets coarse, unmanageable and dry the very next day. Best example of how a universally flattering product fails miserably for you. I will not recommend this to my friend and will never repurchase. I have taken an oath to stick with my hair pattern and erase all these straight hair dreams from my heart completely. **hugs old shampoo's empty bottle affectionately**

Hope you girls found my review useful.

Love,
