After a really long time I am here with a review post. My blog was on the verge of becoming an only nail art blog but then did not want to shrink the area it covers.
I am going to review a bight lippie from my collection. As I have mentioned earlier, bright lipsticks are a new love for me. And, as I am a newbie to all these, I keep experimenting with pocket friendly brands. I got this lipstick called “California Orange” from street wear.
I love street wear’s color rich range of lipsticks. They offer decent pigmentation with very nice texture at a surprisingly low cost. I actually picked this shade on the occasion of my friend’s wedding and I am in love with it.
The lipstick looks reddish orange in the bullet with super minute golden glitters. When swatched, the color comes out as a bright orange leaning towards red with mild and almost negligible golden sheen. The color pay off is very good. It covers my moderately pigmented lips well in a single swipe and two swipes impart rich color. As it is a very bold color, it can also be worn as a stain.
The texture of the lipstick is semi-matte. The bullet feels kind of stiff and dry. It has no effect on the dryness of my lips and it doesn’t stain them.
As the bullet feels a little dry, it doesn’t glide on the lips like the creamy ones. The lipstick stays put for 3 hours without any food in between. The glitter or the golden sheen is what that puts me off. I don’t like my lipsticks or glosses to have any glitter in them.
Now summing the pro’s and con’s
1. Highly affordable (Rs.160/-).
2. Very good color pay off.
3. Nice texture.
4. Doesn’t stain the lips.
5. Pretty color.
1. May not suit dusky skinned girls.
3. Stays for just 3 hours. (Can’t complain with such a price tag)
4. packing is not travel friendly.
Verdict: Decent product at a decent price! But I may not pick this particular shade up for the glitter factor.
Hope you girls found the review useful.
