Lippy Love: MUA Power Pout in Runway Red - Review

Hello Friends,

Today I am going to review a product which is my recent love/addiction. It is another lip product and this time it is none other than the MUA Power Pout in Runway red.!

MUA Power Pout in Runway Red

These are launched by MUA somewhere in April and are considered to be the cheaper alternatives to the Clinique Chubby Sticks and Revlon Balm Stains. I have Revlon Balm stain and have used it. Read on to know if it is a decent alternative to it.

About:

Available in six rich bold shades from chic nude ‘RendezVous’ to deep rich rasberry ‘Broken Hearted’, our new colour intense lip tints will ensure your lips will look good enough to kiss!

MUA Power Pout is a lip treatment with colour intensity that relieves dry, cracked lips providing immediate moisturisation. The handy pencil-style applicator provides easy to apply sheer soft lip colour and rolls up for easy use.

Ensure you have the most kissable lips this spring and kisses they will remember forever…

Available in shades Rendez Vous, Irreplaceable, Crazy in Love, Runway, Justify and Broken Hearted.

MUA Power Pout in Runway Red

Price: 3 GBP.

Packing:

The packing is identical to the Revlon lip tints except for the fact that MUA power pouts are a teeny bit shorter than the Revlon ones.

My Experience:

It is decently pigmented for a balm tint. It applies evenly without those patches with irregular color intensity. The balm feeling goes off in an hour to two and the stain stays for another 2 hours. It fades off evenly. The color is a gorgeous red and looks little orangey at times. It is a wearable shade. The stick feels a little buttery than its Revlon counterpart. It looks like it will melt off or break easily. The mint smell which was present in Revlon is present in MUA as well but with much lesser vigor.  It did not have any influence on my lips i.e., it did not dry them out.

Another thing I noticed was, as it is buttery, when I try to build the color intensity by swiping more than once, it settles in the dry areas. It does not emphasize the lines but while applying it just gets struck in the uneven ridges on the lips. :D So, one must use them on scrubbed and soft lips to avoid that.

Now to the Pro’s and Con’s.

Pro’s:

1. Very pretty shade.
2. Just 3 GBP.
3. The minty smell is not so strong.
4. Glides smoothly.
5. Does not emphasize dryness.
6. Can be carries around.
7. Buttery than the Revlon ones.

Con’s:

1. It may melt or break in Chennai climate.
2. Gets struck in the un-even ridges on the lips.
3. Not for heavily pigmented lips.
4. Not easily available in India. (I got mine from a facebook page called the bshop)

Verdict: These are a steal. I love them more than my Revlon one’s and I am going to check out the others shades soon. Highly recommended.

Hope you girls found the review useful.
