AVON Face and Eye Makeup Remover - Review

I use water-proof and smudge proof cosmetics on a daily basis. I used to apply olive oil or coconut oil for removing the same. I found that, though these oils helped in removing the makeup, I had to exert some pressure on my delicate eye area to completely get rid of them. This prompted me to buy a specific makeup remover for removing eye makeup. I tried Lakme remover and it was very good. When it got over, I got a remover with a similar dual-phase formula from Avon.

The remover is priced at Rs. 399/- for 75 ml. I decided to go ahead and order one even though it was not on discount.

The remover comes in a semi-transparent white plastic bottle with a black flip cap. The flip cap fits very well and it is spill proof. But I would have preferred a dispenser so that accidental spillage could be avoided.

This remover works very fine on the days I have very minimal makeup on my eyes (like a simple upper lash lining, washable mascara etc). But on the days when I tight line or line my waterline using my heavy duty makeup products like amway kohl pencil, smudge proof eyeliner etc., I feel the need to go over and over again to completely remove the product from my eyes.

It does remove the makeup completely. But I had to exert pressure. I use the body shop cotton rounds or Helen Harper cotton rounds along with it and they work fine. In my opinion, such cotton rounds give better degree of comfort when compared to cotton balls.

When the product gets inside my eyes, though it does not burn, there is an obvious discomfort. They claim that this product is safe for contact lens wearers. My friend who wears contacts told me that if we use them, the eyes become excessively sensitive. I am not sure if the discomfort would be an easy thing to handle for contact lens wearers. The remover has a mild fragrance. It is not excessively oily.

Like all AVON products, you can buy these ONLY through their representatives.

Maniac's Rating: 3/5

Though it is a decent product for removing eye makeup, I prefer using the Lakme Bi-Phase one for its price, performance, over-the-counter availability and packing.

You can give it a try when it is in offer. I will not repurchase this.

Hope you girls found the review useful.
