AVON Glimmerstick in Starry Night Blue - REVIEW

Hello Friends,

Today I am going to share my views on the much raved product from AVON. Yes it is the glimmer sticks. I was going through last month’s catalog and these were for an offer. I grabbed that opportunity to get three shades. I resisted my temptation to buy all the shades as I have never tried them before.

It retails at Rs. 299/- but it comes in some offer or the other every month. I got it for Rs. 199/-

The shade which I am going to review today is the Starry Night Blue.

Before going to the review, let me list down my expectations from this product.

Good pigmentation.
Creamy formula.
Decent staying power.
Smudge and water proof.
Wearable color.

This product comes in a retractable form. I am not a fan of retractable pencils. I know that product wastage is eliminated and all but I personally feel that retractable ones run out faster than the pencil ones.

The formula is so creamy that it keeps breaking off if I twist a little more product than what it is actually required. It is highly pigmented and one swipe is enough to get the color. Due to its creamy nature, it glides on effortlessly.

The liner is water and smudge resistant. The reason for me using the words “resistant” is, on the day I wore this, I happened to cry after 4 hours and like everyone, I rubbed my eyes and the liner was not there. It smudged irregularly. But it never created the panda eyes effect.

Swatch & Smudge test:

Without all the drama, this liner stays put all day along in my non-oily lids. It resists water very well that one can wear it without fear on a rainy day. But water together with rubbing is what the liner is not prepared to handle. I tried it on in my waterline. It did not irritate my eyes and the staying power of the liner in my waterline is not good. It just stayed for 2 hours before settling in my lower lash line, between my lashes.

The color is the most gorgeous blue I have ever worn. This blue is not neonish like the LA girls liner. It is very dark and wearable. Anyone can wear this liner at any time of the day without looking awkward or so in the eyes. I am not a fan of neon or super bright summery colors in the eyes. I stick to dark shades like black, grey, dark brown and this color fits my bill perfectly.  I have worn it for my office too.

Summarizing my likes and dislikes.

1. Pocket friendly.
2. Superb pigmentation.
3. Smooth texture.
4. Smudge and water resistant.
5. Gorgeous, wearable color.
6. Safe for sensitive eyes.

1. Smudges when it is wet and rubbed off.
2. Available only via an Avon rep.
3. Too creamy that it tends to break.

Wonderful product at an affordable price tag. I will purchase all the shades from this range. Highly recommended.

Hope you girls found my review useful.

Keep smiling
