I was very tired and lazy for the past two days that I never took time to publish this review. As I have mentioned in the earlier BB creams review, I never prefer using foundations in my daily makeup. I am always on the lookout for a decent tinted cream or moisturizer which will give me a light and fresh look.
After my positive experience with the Ponds BB cream and after exhausting two tubes of the product, I went to replenish my stock where I saw this product from Lakme which is named as a CC cream. I became curious and picked one.
I have been using this product for almost 3 weeks and I feel that I am ready to review it for you girls.
Curious me googled the difference between CC creams and BB creams. Result? CC cream aka complexion care creams are help in evening out the complexion. It is little bit more than a tinted moisturizer. It does not help in dealing with blemishes or improving the skin texture. Whereas, a BB cream aka Blemish Balm which is made famous by the Korean movie stars helps protect the skin, clear up the blemishes along with giving mild coverage. It is known to be used by the starts to protect treated skin.
This product, true to its name, does not come with tall claims.
Comes in a pretty and functional tube packing with a silver lid. Travel Friendly.
Shades available: Beige and Bronze.
I got the beige shade as per the SA’s recommendation. (It was wrongly packed in a carton that had the name bronze on for some unknown reason) It looked too light for my skin when I swatched it but when I blended, it adapted surprisingly well and did not look too light. It gave a nice subtle glow. The finish is not completely matte and looks very natural.
As I am dry skinned, based on my experience with the Ponds BB cream, I applied this on well moisturized face. But the cream is not as drying as the BB creams and after some time I noticed my T-Zone becoming shiny. I was very surprised as my skin is too dry for such an effect which means that it is not good for oily skinned ladies. A strict No.!
Next time, I tried on without a moisturizer and I had difficulty blending it. From then, I moisturize minimally concentrating only on the problem areas and this cream worked well.
The cream gives a sheer – medium coverage which is a little less when compared to the coverage given by the ponds BB cream and obviously it does not cover up acne blemishes darkness. True to its name, it evens out the skin tone very well and gives a naturally polished, fresh look. It wears well on a concealer and it did not get cakey or crease near the eye area. It stays for about 4 hours on my dry skin which is good but not so good for office goers.
It does not have any bothersome fragrance. It smells like any other lakme foundation.
Summing up the Likes and Dislikes now,
1. Imparts Nice Glow.
2. Evens out the skin tone very well.
3. Gives a fresh look as per the claim.
4. Has SPF 20.
5. Decent staying power.
6. Easily available and affordable.
1. Sheer - medium finish.
2. Does not moisturize.
3. Not suitable for the oily or extremely dry skinned.
Maniac’s rating: 3/5.
Verdict: A nice tinted cream with sheer to medium coverage for everyday use. Nothing more.
I may not repurchase as I prefer a little more coverage.
Hope you girls find my review useful.
