To break the mid week monotony, I am back with a lipstick review. I am not a fan of lakme lipsticks. Not that I hate them. I just did not have the urge to try them out. I love to wear n*de colors on my lips to work. They give me a sophisticated feel. One day, I was checking out the lakme counter for their fast and fabulous nail paints and this lipstick color caught my eye. I bought it without even swatching it.
It is the Lakme Enrich Satin in the shade 567.
The lipstick comes in the standard lakme packing. It is functional but nothing to boast about. The bullet’s cap fits well making it a good travel buddy.
The color of the lipstick is n*de brown. It is very creamy and buttery. Due to the buttery nature, it did not dry out my lips while wearing it, but I will not call it moisturizing because once the lipstick wears out, my lips feel dry. One thing I noticed about the color is, my lips are moderately pigmented (rosy brown) and this lipstick comes out as a perfect MLBB shade. It did not wash out my NC42 (approx) skin tone.
The lipstick requires two swipes to become completely opaque. The lipstick does not accentuate fine lines and it glides on easily. If we try to build the color with more than 3 swipes, the color tends to bleed near the corners. However this can be fixed by wearing a lip liner underneath.
The staying power of lipstick is very less. On my lips, it stays for just 3 hours. I don’t like to touch up my makeup or lips while at work and this is definitely not my companion at work.
Now Summing up the likes and dislikes
1. Gorgeous N*de brown.
2. Creamy texture.
3. Pocket friendly.
4. Travel friendly packing.
1. Tends to bleed near the corners.
2. Melts and breaks in Chennai climate.
3. Very average staying power.
4. I hate the fragrance.
Verdict: Gorgeous N*de color at a very affordable price tag. I will recommend it to all the creamy lipstick lovers but I will not repurchase as I am more of a matte lipstick person.
Hope you girls found my review helpful.
