I am hoarding n*de lipsticks right now as I have started wearing lipsticks almost daily to my office. I find and feel that n*de lips always have a classy and timeless appeal and makes almost any dull face look polished.
I saw this lipstick on the flat 50% off sale for purchases above Rs. 800/- and grabbed it. Original price of this lipstick is Rs. 495/- for 4.2 g.
About: Pure stay Lip color is preservative free, natural, long lasting, hydrating lip color. One swipe and your lips are ready for a healthier shine all day long without any loss of moisture ensuring a flawless finish. SPF 20 gives UV protection.
Active Ingredients: Bil Berry extract, Grape Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E.
This lipstick has SPF 20.
Packing: Almost all the products in this range come in a cute pink carton box and a pink satin cover. I threw them both out. All were raving about the satin cover when this range was launched. I really don’t understand the hype. Apart from being pink and satin I don’t find the cover pretty at all. The bullet is a pink metallic case and it feels sturdy enough to be your travel buddy.
Color: The shade bubbly n*de is a light brown shade that will suit almost all Indian skin tones. But it is not an n*de shade. At least not for the fair – medium skin toned people. In my skin, it looks as a medium brown lipstick. It has almost negligible shimmer which shows up as a pretty sheen for some time, before vanishing completely leaving a soft brown matte color.
Finish: It is a matte lipstick and it feels little stiff and rubbery while applying it. Lips must be scrubbed and moisturized before applying this lipstick. They do not glide easily on the lips like the creamy ones.
Wear time and transferability: The lipstick stays for about 5-6 hours on my lips before starting to fade. It may require mild touch ups after a heavy meal. The lipstick transfers mildly for the first few minutes of application. Once set, it stays for a long time before fading completely. If you have rosy - brown lips like me, you’d feel that the lipstick stays for even more time.
Others: The lipstick did not feel heavy on lips. But I do feel the need to apply a lip balm now and then as this lipstick is quite drying. The lipstick requires two swipes to cover the pigmentation. I don’t have pigmentation issues but off late, due to frequent use of lipsticks or God knows what; I am getting mild pigmentation in the corners of my lips. I required two swipes to cover them up. But again, two swipes increase the intensity of the color and it looks browner on my lips.
The lipstick has a mild and pleasant fragrance. The bullet feels hard enough to withstand the Chennai climate.
Maniac’s Score: 4/5.
Verdict: This lipstick is a perfect choice for those who want a decent one for office and college. Apart from the deficiencies of a matte lipstick, I don’t see any reason not to buy them.
I already have few more shades in mind from this range. Highly recommended.
Hope you girls found my review useful. Have you tried the pure stay lipsticks? If so, which one?
