I am up with another lipstick review. This time, it is one famous lipstick from MAC which I got as a gift. It is the MAC Angel Lipstick. The moment I saw a MAC lipstick among my birthday gifts, my face lit up and again, the moment I saw the name, my face fell. It became a bitter sweet moment for me. Want to know the reason? Read on.
This is a very light pink lipstick with a frost finish. This color is described as a soft pink.
To sport this color, I need either one of the following:
- Fair cool toned skin.
As I don’t have any of the above, it looks highly unflattering on me.
I try to finish it off by mixing the color with other lipstick and topping it off with a darker gloss.
The texture is very creamy and for the first coat, it applies evenly. As it is not opaque in the first coat, when i swipe the bullet across my lips one more time, it applies unevenly. Initially I was so upset and confused by this. After trying in so many ways, I was about to finally give up when I saw in a blog that the lipstick INDEED applies unevenly and that I need to dab it with my finger to get an even color. I was surprised by this. I thought MAC is above all imperfections. No?
It emphasizes fine lines and dry lips very well. So scrubbed and moisturized lips are a must have if you wish to sport this baby.
Staying power is same as most of the MAC’s i.e., 4 hours with light snacks in between.
This would be a very flattering shade if you are a fair skinned person. This lipstick is supposed to be Kim K’s favorite.
I am not going into the likes and dislikes in detail as it would be very unfair to do so. It doesn't suit me.
It is more frosty in person. Though i have taken this picture in sunlight, i don't know why it looks little different here.
Maniac's Rating: 3/5
I have put Kim K's picture where she is wearing MAC Angel. Just to give an idea of the color.
Doesn't she look so pretty ??
Hope you girls found my review useful. Do you have this lipstick? Any idea on how to make this work??
