Today I will be reviewing the recently launched L’Oreal BB Cream in Ivory. I guess I will stop my BB cream expedition with this.
The cream comes in an attractive and classy beige colored tube encased in a gold colored cardboard box with a gold cap and black & gold lettering. The packing is travel friendly.
The BB cream comes in 3 shades (Ivory, Neutral, warm) and is priced at Rs.550/- for 30 ml. I was matched to Ivory which looked a little lighter when I came home.
May Contain CI77891/ titanium dioxide, CI77163/Bismuthoxychloride, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499/Iron oxides.
When I swatched it at the shop under store light, this shade seemed to be perfect but when I got home I felt that the medium one would have been a better match.
The product is of creamy consistency but not as thick as the ponds one. It gives a sheer coverage (less coverage when compared to the Maybelline BB stick and Ponds BB cream). It evens out the skin tone well and sets to a semi-matte finish with a healthy glow. You can see that in the swatch picture. I love the glow this product imparts. It makes my skin look very healthy and hydrated.
As claimed, my skin feels smooth and soft in an instant. Unlike other BB creams, it did not dry out my skin or emphasize the dry areas. This product feels so light that I almost forget that I have it on. It gets absorbed into the skin without any extra efforts to blend.
Though the product is a sheer coverage one, it neutralizes the pigmentation decently. You may see that in the swatch picture. It has neutralized the color of my vein to a great extent.
The huge let-down of this product is its staying power. On my dry skin, it stayed only for about 3-4 hours. I have this habit of wiping my makeup and dabbing a compact after lunch. By the time I wanted to wipe it, I noticed that the cream had already disappeared. No color was there in the wipe and my face looked bare. I don’t think it melts away because I did not notice any creasing. It looked as if my skin drank the cream.
It does not have any bothering fragrance and comes with an impressive SPF 35.
1. Imparts a healthy glow.
2. Does not feel heavy on the skin.
3. Blends well.
4. Gives sheer coverage and evens out the skin tone.
5. Did not dry my skin.
6. Has SPF 35 PA +++.
7. Has anti-ageing ingredient.
1. Poor staying power.
2. Sheer coverage.
Maniac’s Rating: 3/5.
Though it comes with an impressive SPF 35, staying power is a pain especially for people who cannot afford to reapply makeup. I have used much cheaper BB creams that work comparatively well though they might not have any fancy anti-ageing stuff. If you have gorgeous flawless skin and if you don’t mind the staying power you may try it.
I will not repurchase or recommend this to anyone.
Hope you girls found my review useful.
