I started using sunscreens last year only. I tried various ones available and finally settled on Neutrogena. But I got bored of using the same product and tried this one from Lotus. I have been using this for the past four months and I will be reviewing it today.
It is the Lotus Herbals 3 in 1 matte look daily sunblock with SPF 40 PA +++.
The product is priced at Rs. 225/- for 50g.
It comes in the trademark Lotus sunscreen packing ie., a bright orange tube is with a flip cap. It is travel friendly.
I use this product on my face almost every day and it has not caused any acne outbreaks. I have severe acne-prone skin and this happens to be the second sunscreen that had not irritated or broke my skin out.
This product is a tinted, non-greasy and runny liquid. It does not feel oily or sticky. It spreads easily and sets to a nice matte finish. It did not dry out my skin and wears well under makeup. It did not emphasize the dry areas or get patchy. The product blends into the skin very well.
Though it is a tinted product, it would be unfair to expect anything in terms of coverage. It evens out the skin tone and does not impart any unnatural white color to the skin. It imparts a nice brightness to the face and does not feel heavy.
Once applied, my skin looks fresh for almost 6-7 hours. It’s impressive. Though it is advised to reapply sunblock every 3 hours, I don’t normally reapply it as I get exposed to sun only during my morning travel to work.
I had it on my hands and feet during a day time shopping rendezvous with mum. During the entire trip I used this product quite generously and I did not tan as I used to. There were no tan marks on my hands and feet. It really helps with tanning because of its decent SPF Content.
It does not have any bothering fragrance.
The only problem I had with it is, its accumulation in the nozzle area of the tube. It dries up and accumulates there and it is definitely not a pretty sight.
2. Tinted product.
3. Helps with tanning.
4. Ideal for facial application. Keeps face looking fresh for long time.
5. Did not irritate or break out my skin.
6. Mattifying yet non-drying.
7. Decent SPF with UVA and UVB protection.
8. Easily available.
1. does not "lighten" the skin.
Maniac’s Rating: 5/5.
I dont care about the skin lightening claim. Almost all skin care products that are sold here has the skin "lightening" claim. Apart from that, this is a great product and will suit almost all skin types. I have already repurchased and will continue doing so.
Some useful Info – Does Sunblock prevent tanning?
Sunblocks are designed to “block” the UVA and UVB rays. There is no filtering concept like the sunscreens. So compared to sunscreens, sunblocks are good at discouraging the formation of tan. If you are religious in applying a high SPF sunblock, your tan will be negligible as the amount of UVA/UVB rays reaching your skin is minimal.
Hope you girls loved the review.
