I have a special place for colored liners in my heart. I love to use wearable color like dark green, blue etc along with my regular black liner to jazz up the look.
Like so, when I saw this colored “kohl” from Avon in offer, I just could not resist buying it.
Price: Rs. 199/- for 1 g.
I am not able to find the products description. But they are supposed to be used as a Kohl and as a cream eye shadow by smudging.
Packing: It comes in a super cute non-twist bullet packing with a transparent cap. The product is packed in such a way to give grip when we apply them in our eyes. I found the cap to be flimsy.
Color: Military green with subtle gold shimmer.
Texture & Pigmentation: The texture of the product is creamy-waxy. The reason why I mention the word waxy is, though it glides over the skin with minimal effort, the color pay-off is not impressive. This is a gorgeous military green. But when swatched, it comes off as light dirty green with unimpressive golden sheen to it. The golden sheen actually adds to the dirty factor.
Fragrance & Staying power: Again it has a waxy fragrance and not the traditional Kohl type. It is little artificial but not intense enough to be noticed during normal course of use. It has very bad staying power. It creases, comes off, and is not smudge resistant.
As an eye shadow base: This is the where, this kohl makes me smile. It serves as a great eye shadow base. I got a dark green eye shadow from Inglot and this serves as an excellent base. It increases the color pay off of the eye shadow and fortunately does not crease.
Maniac’s Rating: 2/5.
One cannot expect staying power and smudge resistance from “kohl” but then this product turned out to be a total fail for me. I won’t repurchase and will not recommend this. Though this is mostly in some offer or the other, I am not sure if it is worth even the discounted price.
Hope you girls found the review useful.
