I wanted to try new brand of mascara as my L'Oreal Million Lashes was about to get over. When I went to the lifestyle, I browsed some of the mascaras at the max factor counter and finally picked this one up.
This is one of the most raved about drug store mascaras across the world. It usually comes in a black tube.
Price: INR. 640/-
Comes in a plastic pink colored “Maybelline colossal mascara”ish packing. It does not come encased in box or anything. The mascara is simply sealed with a tape at the opening. Usually that tape will be accompanied by an unattractive MRP sticker – courtesy our Indian retailers.
The wand aka the applicator looked very thick with spike like stubby bristles sticking out. The wand did not get thin at the ends making the application of mascara at the corner most lashes little difficult.
The formula is not thick or goopy and the wand does not pick up in excess.
Other key points:
The mascara requires 2 coats to reach its full intensity and it lengthens my lashes incredibly. It makes them fan out & curls them well. I can easily skip curling my lashes with this one. The best part about this mascara is IT DOES NOT CLUMP. You can go on applying coats after coats till your heart’s content without looking artificial and clumped up.
I hate wrinkly lashes that resemble spider legs on my eyes. I hate it to the core. It takes away the romantic quotient and classiness from the eyes. Thankfully, this mascara does not impart such an effect.
On the downside, this mascara is NOT for someone who is looking for volume. I don’t like any extra volume for my lashes for daily wear. But if you have sparse lashes, this one will further lengthen it and fan it out which will end up looking sparser.
They maintain the fresh natural looking long fanned out lashes look until you remove it.
It is water resistant. It does not come off if you walk in drizzle or splash water in your face accidentally. But if you deliberately wet them and rub, they come off. Nowadays I like it that way because it is easy to clean it off.
Compared to L’Oreal Paris Million lashes, this one is lighter and natural looking with little/no contribution towards faking volume.
