Tag: How Much is Your Face Worth?

Hi,

I saw this tag here where the blogger has tagged all the beauty bloggers for this one. I found it quite interesting and different from the regular tags we do. So I decided to do this post and tag you all in this.

So here’s my questions to you.

1. Do you plan your month’s beauty and makeup purchases well in advance?
2. Share with me your worst guilt feeling ever, after spending—oops, splurging—money for your beauty items! (including skincare sets, toiletries, etc.)

3. Which makeup/skin care product you hoard the most (like lipsticks, blushes etc) and how many of them do you have. ?

4. New arrivals or items on sale?

5. Repurchasing or trying out new items?
6. How would you manage your money to buy things of your dream?
7. Do you think someone’s haul represents the personality of the buyer? Why? What do you think of a “haul” post actually?
8. How do you react to the “Why do u spend so much on makeup” comments that comes at times from the people you love or from people with whom you cannot be rude?

Here’s my answers to the questions asked by the blogger. :D

1. Have you ever gone over the budget limit which has been set for yourself?
Yes many times in the recent couple of months. I used to be a very good planner earlier but the recent months are full of impulsive purchases!!

2. Share with me your worst guilt feeling ever, after spending—oops, splurging—money for your beauty items! (including skincare sets, toiletries, etc.)

Every month I will portion a part of my paycheck for my expenses. (I give the rest to my dad who does the financial planning for me) As I live with my family, I don’t worry about food and other basic expenses. So I basically plan my purchases from my shopping allowance. In the last two months, by 20th I am broke i.e., I have exhausted my shopping allowance and by 25th I would have taken  minimum 1000-2000 from the portion set aside for my other expenditure. I find very guilty of doing this and I am trying hard not to do it.

3. How much do you think you will be worth of if you get more money than what you’ve got today?

Hmm… I would love to have Rs. 5,000/-  extra. You know am not a greedy girl. Even this one is just to ease out that month-end tensions and stop me from spending the rest of my allowance.

4. New arrivals or discounted items?

New arrivals not that i hate discounted items. I find myself unable to buy when they put a sale on. I might not have money, i will be travelling etc. Bad luck seems to follow me in this regard.

5. Repurchasing or trying out new launched items?

For my face care I mostly re-purchase as it is very difficult for me to find my HG skin care products and my face does not like varied experiments.
For bath and body, makeup etc I love trying out new launches.

6. How would you manage your money to buy things of your dream?

I put aside some part of my allowance towards the fund and buy the product once the required amount is achieved. But successful completion of my “savings” project rarely happens.

7. Do you think someone’s haul represents the personality of the buyer? Why? What do you think of a “haul” post actually?

I don’t think haul posts have any relation to the buyer’s personality because everyone of us would love to splurge if not on the same products and we will obviously hate if people started judging us by the stuffs we buy with our own hard earned money. But yes, at times i do wonder what people do with all the stuffs they buy (and how they store)especially when it is a person who never wears makeup in real life. But that's it.
I love reading (read: looking at pictures of) haul posts. It is so much fun like unlimited window shopping without the annoying glances from the SA!!

8. After answering all the questions above, how’s your feeling now? Do you have any self commitment? What is it—or what are they?

It was so much fun answering these. I do have commitments they are,

Rain or shine I will never spend more than what I can make i.e., I never use credit cards.
I give huge importance to savings. My first and huge expenditure every month is savings followed by setting some aside for a social cause.
I write down the products that I would love to buy in my wish book (pocket diary) and strike it out as and when I purchase them. It gives me more control and keeps me from spending on unplanned items.
I also have developed the habit of sharing my wish list with my close friends who knows something about makeup so that I can be double sure that my money is being spent well.

Hope you girls love this tag and i once again request each and every one of you to do this post and pass this tag on. I am waiting to read your answers.!!
