Compact powders are indispensable in almost everyone’s vanity. When I am on the rush, they are the most reached out products. I got introduced to the Body Shop Make-up range with this compact named as Body Shop All in One Face Base Double foundation.
Price: 900-1200 (sorry I got it 10 months back and I got it at an offer. Paid 800 something as offer price). I checked their international website and it is priced at $22.
A foundation and powder in one neat compact. Use dry for a light matte finish or wet for high coverage. Perfect for on-the-go touch-ups.
No added fragrance
Includes sponge and mirror
As the name suggests, this can be used wet for better coverage but I did not try it as I have dry skin. I have used this product only as a setting powder and on top of my moisturiser to get some natural looking coverage to even out my skin tone during those no make up days.
It comes packed in a chubby plastic compact with a gorgeous metallic mirror finish lid. The Compact has two separate portions. The top portion is provided for placing the applicator and the compact refill is fixed in the portion.
Like in almost all the products, I did not find the applicator useful though it did not look flimsy or cheap. It looked good for touch ups. The closing mechanism of the compact is quite dependable. As it comes with a mirror, it is very useful for occasional touch ups.
This product comes in 10 shades (I guess) and all are named in numbers. I was matched to the shade 04.
The foundation feels very soft and silky to touch and it is pigmented than the regular compacts.
It feels very light on the skin as if I have no make up on. It does not have any over powering fragrance to remind its presence either.
I have been using it for more than 10 months now and it has never caused any skin irritation or acne flare ups.
The finish provided by this foundation is not very matte. The finish looks naturally airbrushed, and velvety.
It has an impressive staying power. It stays for a really long time and if you do not have very oily skin, you can forget about touching it up in the breaks. Apt for working women who does not like to do touch ups.
Dry skinned ladies must moisturise well to avoid dry patches. When moisturised, this does not accentuate the dry areas. I don’t feel it as a con because having dry skin; I moisturise it every time no matter how moisturising my sunblock, foundation or some other product is.
It imparts sheer coverage but can be built without looking cakey to cover redness, unevenness etc. Being a powder foundation, it surprisingly does not look cakey even when we try to build the coverage using a brush.
It also looks nice and natural in photographs.
In India, I don’t think there is a lot of shade selection. So getting matched to your perfect shade will be an issue. I got my perfect match in 04. Check out the swatches.

It is one of their best sellers.
Overall, it is a very good compact/powder foundation that has become my favourite. I will continue repurchasing it as i got successfully matched to my perfect shade. It looks natural and I just love its staying power. I do not consider it costly because, one compact comes for a long time as we require only little quantity for each use.
Maniac’s Rating: 4/5.
Hope you girls liked my review and do share with me your favourite powder foundation or compacts so that I can check them out too.
