Today I will be reviewing my HG foundation. Yes I have finally found a perfect match for all my foundation needs in the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation – Shade 55 i.e., dark beige.
Having combination skin can be tiring. Products labeled for dry skin can make certain parts of our face look like an oil mine whereas products designed for oily and combination skin can make certain parts of our face look parched like Sahara. In winters it gets even worse. Dry skin is very difficult to handle.
I have tried almost all types of drugstore foundations and ended up missing something or the other. (I have never ventured into MAC. For some reason I keep putting it off).
Finally after lots of suggestions and recommendations I got this one. I swatched two shades (which were suggested by the SA) and ended up buying shade 55.

My Views on the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in Shade 55
I always apply foundation on moisturized skin. When I applied this for the first time, I cannot help but notice how seamlessly the dots spread and blended. It gives a gorgeous natural looking dewy finish. There is no patchiness or dryness. I have applied this foundation with a brush, fingers and my beauty blender sponge, it works equally well.
This shade matched my skin tone perfectly. There cannot be a better match.
It feels very light on the skin and as mentioned, it is a medium coverage foundation. It evens out the skin tone very well and hides minor imperfections like redness and small acne marks. Though the coverage is buildable and does not look cakey, I do not personally prefer that.
It did not oxidize, melt or crease even in Chennai’s hot climate.
It stays for a good 6-7 hours and retains the “fresh” look. It does not accentuate the dry areas but I noticed mild negligible shine on my T-Zone after 4-5 hours of wear time. I am sure dry skinned beauties will love this foundation. I always remove makeup once I get home and have never gotten a chance to test their 16 hour claim which does seem a little tall.
It does not look cakey or ashy in photographs.
This foundation did not cause any acne flare ups.
It comes only in 8 shades and I know a lot of people who have difficulty in spotting “their” shade.

It is one of the best drug store foundations for dry skin. If you have dry skin just close your eyes and buy it (after making sure it is your shade of course). Perfectly Glowing complexion and toned skin just as it claims.
Did you know that it is known to be the dupe of Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation? As Chanel is owned by Bourjois, I don’t have any reason to doubt that.
