I had very bad breakouts during early December and I was forced to visit a doc by my family. I had a round of medicines which somewhat cleared my active acne but left me with lots and lots of blemishes.
That was when I decided to try the tea tree range. When I googled for reviews, I was confused. It has contradictory opinions. Some hailed the product and some hated it to the core.
I have used tea tree oil once as spot treatment to dry out my active acne. It did the job well hence I decided to go ahead with my purchase. I got the face wash and this lotion from the range.
I used this product and found that it does not work for me so I gave it to my friend who has oily skin. Hence this review will be from two prospective ie., dry-combination skin and extremely oily skin.
Packing: It comes in a green colored tube packing. The cap shuts well and it is travel friendly.
Price & Expiry:
Texture: It has a Gel- based product and has mild watery texture. Sinks in to the skin quickly and feels light.
Fragrance: It smells strongly of tea tree oil.
Combination – Dry Skin.
I used it at night. I love the fragrance. It is soothing.
I took a teeny tiny amount and spread it evenly on my entire face (I had blemishes all over my face). Immediately after it sunk into my skin, I felt extreme dryness. By morning, I had developed irritation around my nose. It had dried out my skin even more.
Once again I decided to try it as spot treatment on active acne. It did dry out the acne successfully but I was scared to continue using it.
On extremely oily skin:
Imparts a fresh and clean feeling when applied.
Gets absorbed easily.
Keeps face matte and smooth. You will never find the need to blot your face for a really long time.
Blemishes started clearing within just 2 weeks of continued usage and over all skin started looking bright.
The lotion dries out active acne and prevents new one from forming easily.
Due to its tea tree properties, it obviously does not cause acne- breakouts.
Wears well under makeup.
It does not have any SPF. At this price tag, it would have been great to have some SPF in it.
Maniac’s rating: 3.5/5
Though it is a boon for the oily skinned, the price tag does seem to pinch a little. Combination skin will find it a little drying and it is a strict No for the dry and/or sensitive skin.
My friend is very happy to have this wonderful lotion and two more people have already purchased based on her recommendation!
Hope you girls loved the review. Have you tried anything from this range? How did it fare on your skin?
