L’Oréal Paris Rouge Caresse Lipstick in Rock ‘n Mauve - Review, Swatch and LOTD

Hello friends,

I was out of town this weekend. I went to Bangalore. Wow I never expected Bangalore to be soo super-hot. Is the world really going to end?

In line with my love of sheer lipsticks, I am going to review another unique and pretty shade from the L’Oréal Paris Rouge Caresse Lipstick range.

L’Oréal Paris Rouge Caresse Lipstick in Rock ‘n Mauve Review Swatch and LOTD

What L’Oréal Paris says about their Rouge Caresse Lipsticks:

The Rouge Caresse lipstick has a flutter of kissable, soft, colour. Its delicate texture glides onto lips creating a veil of colour with a luminous shine. It adds a desired pop of color with a meltingly soft application.

The lipstick contains light oils, crystalline wax, transparent blenders and pearl pigments that deliver true color with a weight-less comfort.

Review

It comes in a silver bullet packing with a transparent cap. The end of the cap is color-coded to aid in easy identification of the lipstick amidst clutter. The cap fits okayish unlike my aphordite scarlet one but I have carried it many times in my bag and I did not face any problem.

Rock ‘n Mauve is a pretty mauve shade with pink tones to it. It is quite pigmented when compared to the aphordite Scarlet shade. I normally do not prefer mauves as it robs the youth from the face. But as this one as pink tone to it, it does not look so bad.

The Texture of these lipsticks is light weight and buttery. Dry lipped people will love this color. But if you are a fan of highly pigmented, one-stroke opaque colours, this range can be skipped. I prefer these finishes for summers as it gives me that no-makeup feel.

This lipstick imparts even pigmentation. Again, due to its texture there is no tugging and pulling.

Pigmentation of this particular shade is quite decent and it gets fully opaque in three swipes. Layering is not bad either. They coats go on smoothly without any slipping and the final result looks beautiful with well fused pure moisturizing color.

This shade does not have any shimmers and stays for 4 hours on my lips after which the color starts fading evenly. It feels moisturizing throughout the wear time.

What I Like:
  1. Lovely mauve.
  2. Decent pigmentation.
  3. Smooth application – dry lips friendly.
  4. Imparts color evenly.
  5. Decent Staying Power.
  6. Feels extremely light on lips.
  7. Not very costly considering the quality.

What I Hate:
  1. Packing could have been better. The cap gives me nightmares while travelling.
  2. Highly pigmented lips may not feel comfortable in sporting this range.

Indian Beauty Maniac’s Rating
4.5/5

Rock ‘n Mauve is a lovely mauve with highly moisturizing finish and decent wear time. Highly recommended.
