Hello girls,

L’Oréal Paris Shine Caresse Light Weight Lip Color
L’Oréal Paris launched these lip colors recently in India. They are claimed to be hydrating like a lip balm and long lasting like a lip stain. I have the shades Milady, Eve and Juliette here today.

About:

Now hydration & shine meet lasting, lightweight color. With Shine Caresse, discover a lip gloss that doubles up as a lip stain. This next generation lip colour combines the texture & shine of a gloss with the long-wear ability of a stain. It delivers a lasting colour with a subtle glossy shine.

The high moisturizing gloss is non-sticky, can be worn light as a tint or intense like a lip color and stays pure even hours after application.

Review

These lip color aka stains attracted me mainly because of their super luxurious packing. The packing and the gloss tube oozes elegance. The golden color tube has a transparent part in the middle to aid in easy identification.

The petal shaped applicator and the narrow nozzle helps prevent product wastage.

Milady is lavender pink. The shade looks little milky on me and i am not comfortable in sporting this shade. It reminds me of Barbie doll. Though it is a beautiful color, it is a tricky color to sport. The color of our lips tends to influence this shade a lot. On me, with one swipe it barely turns up and with two-three it looks patchy and wrong. I do not have the personality to pull this color.

Eve is a pretty orchid rose color. Single swipe imparts beautiful wearable rose color that looks natural and gorgeous. On layering it looks much deeper and borderline vampy for my tastes.

Juliette is my favorite color of the lot. It is a bright red leaning little towards orange. It will suit all skin tones. It looks lovely in a single swipe and looks glamorous and so 80 upon layering.

The texture of these lip colors is tricky. It is little bit runnier than a gloss but thicker than a stain. It goes sheer on application and “sets” to a little more opaque color.

Though the Petal-shaped applicator is good, due to the texture, I found it difficult of apply evenly especially when I wanted to layer the color. It goes well when we give time for the first layer to sink and settle before going for the second.

And, as it sets much opaque, overdrawing in an attempt to make lips bigger should be done with much care. Due to the texture it tends to get runny and slip especially at the outer corners.

It stays for 5 hours on my lips and survives mild snacks and drinks. The glossiness starts fading from the outer corner first. It stains evenly and the stain lasts really long. Like almost all balm-stains, the glossiness vanishes in 2 hours leaving the color behind.

It feels hydrating on application and once the glossiness vanishes, it feels little drying on my lips.

It does not transfer much once it sets (or the glossiness wears off)

True to their claim, they feel extremely light on lips. I hate heavy lip products during summers.

They do not have any bothering fragrance.

  6. Does not bleed once set.

  3. Dries out my lips.

Indian Beauty Maniac’s rating
3.5/5

It is a good for people who love intense color and decent wear time. It did not work for me as I find the formula quite drying and difficult to work with.

Have you tried these lip colors? If so what is your favorite shade?
