Maybelline Colossal Kohl in Turquoise - Review, Swatch and EOTD

Hello friends,

As the waves of praises showered upon the newly launched Maybelline colossal kohl in Turquoise have subsided I have now decided to review mine.

The packing is similar to the original colossal Kajal. Yellow colored twist-up pencil. Very convenient and travel friendly.

What Maybelline New York says about the product:

What Maybelline claims about its newly launched Colossal Kohl in Turquoise
True to its name it is turquoise colored kohl with a metallic finish. I love turquoise on my black-brown eyes as i feel that they make them look more intense.

The texture of this kohl is extremely creamy. The pencil feels fragile and is prone to breakage. The tip of the liner breaks even with a little pressure.

In my dictionary, creamy twist up kohl’s = thick lines. It gets little difficult to draw thin precise lines with this one. But an angled brush is all you need to fix this problem.

The pigmentation is good. One swipe imparts decent color. But the pigmentation, though opaque gets little uneven whilst lining the lower lash line due to its extremely creamy texture. But with a brush, it works like a charm. I prefer to go over the first swipe to get more intense and rich color.

Maybelline Colossal Kohl in Turquoise's fragile tip
It did not irritate when I wore it on my waterline. But it is not advisable to wear long-lasting metallic or shimmery products in the waterline.

Staying power on lash line is great. It stays put till I get home and remove it with a remover. On the waterline, it stays put for almost 4-5 hours and settles between the lower lashes. It still looks pretty imo.

It does not smudge, smear and get all over your face when you shed a tear or two making it perfect for your dramatic moments.

It works nice as an eyeshadow base but if you wish to blend, it must be done swiftly as it sets in seconds.

I would not call it pricey as almost all decent colored kohl’s retail more or less around INR. 250-300. (Avon- INR. 299/-; Lakme eyeconic – INR. 250/-).

It is easily available at all health & glow outlets and Maybelline counters. I got this super cute pouch as compliment with it :D

In the eye looks I have not evened out the liner in my lower lash line to show how it looks and I used Kryolan angled brush to create the tail.

  2. So beautiful raji, your eyes are naturally beautiful. This one looks exactly like my Bourjois Contour Clubbing eyeliner pencil in Blue Remix. It is also creamy, smudge proof and waterproof. but the price is higher. I wish the maybelline people introduce more colors in this range
