Hello pretty ladies,
The early mornings are getting cooler day by day prompting the arrival of early winters. It is also raining in the afternoons and evenings resulting in further drop of temperature. It is not cold by universal standards here but for Chennai, yes it is pretty cold.
I have dry skin that needs special attention during such confusing weather. So I decided to ditch those light moisturizing lotions and started using body butters to replenish my skin’s moisture content.
Today I am going to review my latest (addition) addiction – The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter!
About: (source - www.thebodyshop.in)
This rich and creamy Body Butter is a feast for the skin. It melts straight in to leave skin feeling soft and smooth. It contains Community Fair Trade shea butter and has a sweet strawberry scent.
The body butter comes in the big strawberry colored tub. Though the packing is comfortable for everyday use, it is not travel friendly.
The texture of the product is rich and smooth. For someone with a normal skin, this product can be too heavy.
For my normal- combination skin, it feels rich and moisturizing if used in moderation. If I go a little overboard, it makes my skin feel oily.
It has shea butter and is perfect for my night time skin care regime. It makes even my elbows and knees feel smooth and nourished.
As it is rich, it does not get absorbed into my skin in a jiffy like those light moisturizing lotions. It takes its time. But once absorbed, I am left with a glowing, smooth and healthy looking skin.
I don’t use it during the day time these days as it is not so cold enough to make my skin feel that dry. But I am sure this will come in handy during the Dec-Feb months.
This body butter smells like a delicious strawberry smoothie or ice cream. Yum!!! I feel like eating a strawberry flavored pastry every time I smell this. No good if you intend to go on a diet.!
It is priced at Rs. 1095/- (around $17) for a 200 ml quantity which adds up to the “ouch” factor. But when we take into account the moisturizing capacity and fragrance, I feel that it is worth the price.
I think at the given rate of usage, I will finish this tub in max 2 months time. Once it is finished, I will surely try their other fragrances. I really hope they re-launch their Japanese cherry blossom body butter for the festive season!
